I took the SAT’s today! My only complaint was, why do they make you take the test at 7 in the morning! I think that could make for some faulty tests what with people being so tired in the morning. I know I was tired, at least. The only reason I got to take the SAT’s in 7th grade was because a couple of months ago, me and a bunch of my smarty-pants friends from my advanced classes got a letter from the 7th Grade Duke Talent Search. It supposed to help you get into really good colleges It was really cool and interesting. I definetly got a feel for the SAT’s. I don’t get my scores for a long while, like a couple more months.
The test was divided into 11 parts: 1 writing essay, 5 reading parts, and 5 math parts.
First was the writing essay. The topic was “Is it good to always trust people?” and I had to give my opinion on this statement. I wrote an expostitory essay about what would be the pros and cons of lending someone all of your money if you barely knew them. Pros: you would have helped someone out of maybe a rough patch. Cons: I could have gone on forever about the cons. What if the person never repays you? How well do you really know the person? Think twice before giving someone all of your money. Especially if you barely know them.
Next was the reading section. You know where you have to read those ginormous passages with those ginormous words and then answer the slightly challenging questons. It was pretty easy except that I kept running out of time.
Last was the math section. I LOVE math so this was the easiest. All of it was like 3rd grader stuff. a2 x ba= b2/c=EASY.
I didn’t get out of there until 1:30, 6 hours later! I told my mom that to congradulate me she needs to rent The Lion King, which I’ve wanted to see ever since my chorus performed the musical at the Pensacola Arts Festival.
Stargirl is about a girl who comes out of homeschool into high school. Everyone thinks she is strange until she gets on the cheerleading team and almost leads her basketball team to the championship. But, eventually the team lost and everyone blamed it on Stargirl. Everyone hated her for just being different except for Leo, who likes Stargirl but is torn between her and the rest of the school crowd. He must then choose whether to continue being Stargirl’s friend or be just like any of the other students at Mica High. Eventually, everyone ends up liking her although, she soon disappears and is never seen again. Her legacy still stands at Mica High to this day.
My favorite part of Stargirl was when she started singing Happy Birthday to people and their reactions. I thought the ending was so sad, Leo never even got to she her at the Ball! And then she just vanishes!
I liked this book so much, that I decided to start reading another one of Jerry Spinelli’s books: Eggs.
We worked more on the dialogue today. All 5 of the crew members were here. We tried to get Lathan and Dionte into the cast. I think Dionte agreed, but he hasn’t asked his teacher for that period. But, when Heavyn asked Lathan to be her boyfriend (in the script) he totally flipped out so I think we’re going to need to think about getting a replacement for him, because he probably won’t do it. Lathan HATES Heavyn’s guts.
Tonight we had dinner. More specifically, we had tortillas.
First, put corn tortillas on the griddle
Second, flip corn tortillas
3) Cook corn tortillas to your liking and remove from the griddle
4) Place flour tortillas on the griddle
5) Flip flour tortillas
6) Cook and remove
7) Start cooking your choice of meat or tofu. I chose filet mignon.
8) Cook meat until it’s satisfactory
9) Add seasonings and other toppings like chives, salsa, red onions, etc.
10) Serve and enjoy!
Today, we made the final copy of the script for Rumours. Well, it wasn’t really the final copy, it was more like the complete outline. This is because today we started adding in the dialogue and we also determined our character’s names. My movie name is Jessica the Bully. The class only got about half-way through the dialogue, but we could have finished if we weren’t missing 2 of our 5 cast members because of PATS. I’ve decided that if I can get a hold of the movie video, I might post it here because it sounds like it’s going to be very comical, so far.

Today, we finished the 1st draft of the script for,
(Cont. from Scene II)
Jordan tells Heavyn the rumour, the rumour is that Heavyn is cheating on her boyfriend, Lathan, with Dionte. (They might change.) Heavyn runs off to the bathroom with large exaggerated sobs. The principle, Gina, premeres on stage and says, “Are you ok?”. Heavyn runs out and principle Gina is confused.
Heavyn is alone. The bullies, Me & Claire come up and start taunting her. Jordan arrives and tries to stop the bullying. Me & Claire turn onto Jordan and start insulting her. Heavyn and Jordan decide to tell the principle. All three of them have a big conversation (this is where we actually talk about how bad bullying is and a bunch of statisics and such).
Gina, Heavyn, and Jordan confront Me and Claire. The bullies plead for forgiveness. Heavyn and Jordan do not accept their apologies. The principle drags Me & Claire to the office by our ears. Dean Thomas really talks about bullying, and he can make a point. (We’re not sure of this, either.)
And that concludes Rumours: A Mrs. Galloway’s 5th Period Production

The Why Cafe by John P. Strelecky really made me take a 180 on my life. Previously, I could have seen myself dwidling down to the examples of people they mentioned where they let other people control what they did with their lives without even realizing it. I want to make sure that never ever happens to me. My favorite part was when John was shocked by how much time the average person spent reading over junk mail. A whole year is stolen from their life simply from looking at junk mail! This surprised me alot, too.
I give this book 100% A+! For being the most inspiring book I’ve ever read.
Today when I got up, I did not want to go to school, as normal. But, the second I got to homeroom I felt 100% better. I have no idea why, though. Nothing too exciting happened today, except we got a new project in research/Mrs. Galloway’s class. My group, (which is really my whole class since there’s only 5 people), decided to do a documentary/video/performance about gossip and rumours. I think this is the best thing we’ve ever done in research (even though I don’t think this requires research). The plot isn’t quite stable yet, but it goes something like this:
Heavyn (the victim) walks down the hallway all fancy-like. Me and Claire (the mean girls) start whispering a rumour. Jordan (the observer) overhears our whispers, but the audience doesn’t. Jordan is shocked!
Jordan tells Heavyn the rumour…
And that’s all we came up with after 50 minutes of thinking. We are probably going to add more cast members, but we didn’t get around to it yet.
